San Diego Rock Musicians and TV Stars Josh and JB Welch turn to Movies with their Forthcoming - Vampire Flick Vain | Splash Magazines

Josh Welch, once the worlds youngest record executive at age 14, now turns to directing his first low budget feature vampire flick at age 18.

Google "youngest record executive in the world" and you will probably land on a picture of the two brothers, actors and musicians named Josh and JB Welch.

Now the young men take aim at launching their new album and worldwide tour alongside the launch of Vain, a thrilling vampire rock and roll flick written and directed by 18 year-old Josh Welch. This has has been an exhilarating ride for San Diego’s top rock band after the two made their way through a CBS syndicated show and now readies to open up their tour in 2012 with a slate of TV, film and music releases.

Homegrown San Diego natives Josh and JB Welch, is an award winning and young rock duo who got their start on CBS in 2009 with the release of their reality show, Josh and JB in the Industry. Their story has been building each year and it looks like 2012 could really be a year for these boys to pop out on the music scene with a vampire rock and roll movie called Vain, going into production for release in 2012.

Vain, written by the younger brother Josh Welch, is about a group of orphans who are struggling to reach stardom as fledgling rock stars, their main leader of the band Kyle (played by “J.B. Welch”) is haunted by a vampire who is the daughter of the fictitious bad boy rock band bloodstone. It turns into a love story and drama. The film will be shot near their Jamul San Diego residence in a real stone castle out in East San Diego county.

“Telling a story in a film like Vain, is what I feel most thrilled about.” said Josh Welch. While Josh pens the screenplay, his brother JB is busy writing the lyrics and producing the sound track in their new home studio just set up on the family’s ranch in Jamul, California. “I’m involved daily on the music and acting side, and more with the writing the song lyrics for the band in the movie while Josh sorts out the scenes and script”. The two brothers work together very well on creating music, TV shows and movies and have already done more than 13 half hour episodes of television together.

“I’m not at all afraid to take on directing my first feature film. I am building a team of people who are talented and who really care about the movie” Josh said.

In 2009 the two brothers got their start on a nationwide roll out on syndicated stations (primarily CBS and ABC stations nationwide) with their search to find a band and launch a record label, aptly names “Junior Records”. When no talent could be located after fights, drama and more than 30 hopefuls getting tossed from the show, it was time for the two young boys to strike out on their in own in music. They quickly got connected to Billboard winning producers, Grammy winning writers, and just completed production on 5 new songs with chart smashing music producer J. Bynum which will be part of the Vain movie sound track.

Their 14 year-old sister Courtney Welch will also co star in the movie in the role of Kyra, as an mischievous vampire, which Josh refers to as a character who is “cute but definitely a little demon“ (go figure, her older brother Josh of course wrote this role for his sister in the script).
